I’ve painted most of my life – starting in the fourth grade when my dance teacher left town and my mother had the good sense to enroll me in an after-school art class. It was a wise move; I would never have made it to Radio City Music Hall. That art class launched a passion for creating art, and that passion eventually became a career.

While I spend a great deal of time in my studio, I also paint outdoors as often as possible. Happily, I belong to a couple of wonderful outdoor painting groups – ALLA PRIMA INTERNATIONAL and the OUTDOOR PAINTERS SOCIETY – whose members are addicted to plein air painting and love sharing the experience with other artists. I’m also a member of OIL PAINTERS OF AMERICA, LANDSCAPE ARTISTS INTERNATIONAL, and several local groups, including HOUSTON ART GALS, WOMEN IN THE VISUAL AND LITERARY ARTS and HOUSTON CIVIC ARTS ASSOCIATION.

My career has been one of constant fascination. Perhaps I can explain my passion with the words of one of my heroes: “Personally, I experience the greatest degree of pleasure in having contact with works of art. They furnish me with happy feelings of an intensity such as I cannot derive from other realms.” Albert Einstein
